1. Introduction
Thai Radio – ฟังวิทยุออนไลน์ (“the app”) is a free mobile application developed and operated by Welton Ventures Technologies Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the app and the third-party services it uses collect, how that data is used, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
You can use the entire app anonymously — creating an account is optional. Most data we collect is associated with a randomly-generated, app-specific device identifier rather than your real identity. The exception is the optional account described under “Account information” below.
We do not collect your phone number or precise GPS location, and the app does not use your contacts, camera, photos, or microphone for any feature. No audio is recorded by the app.
We collect the following — through our own servers and through the third-party services listed in Section 3:
- Account information (only if you sign in): Signing in is optional and is offered so your library can be saved to your account and synced across your devices. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store, through Firebase Authentication, your display name, email address, and profile photo URL (as provided by Google or Apple — note Apple may supply a private relay email), together with an account identifier and the device identifiers linked to your account. If you do not sign in, we do not collect any of this.
- Synced library data (only if you sign in): the radio stations you favorite, the podcasts you follow and your new-episode notification preferences, your playlists, your podcast episode playback positions (so you can resume on another device), and your recent listening history. This data is stored on our servers and tied to your account so it is available on your other devices.
- Device & technical information: operating system and version, device model, language, app version, network type, and device/advertising identifiers.
- Approximate (coarse) location: an approximate region derived from your IP address, used by our analytics and advertising partners. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Usage & listening activity: the stations and podcasts you open and play, time spent, app sections you interact with, and similar in-app actions, used to power recommendations and improve the app.
- Search activity: terms you enter in the app’s search, used to improve search results and surface trending content.
- Purchase history: records of in-app purchases (e.g. “Remove Ads”, Premium). We receive only a confirmation of purchase from the app stores; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Crash & diagnostic logs: anonymous error and performance reports.
3. Third-Party Services
The app integrates third-party SDKs and services that may collect and process data independently under their own privacy policies, including:
- Google — Google Play services, Firebase Authentication (sign-in with Google), Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting), and Google Ad Manager / AdMob (advertising).
- Apple — App Store services, Sign in with Apple, and analytics (iOS).
- Advertising mediation partners — AppLovin and Pangle (serve and measure ads alongside Google).
- OneSignal — push notifications (processes a device push token and basic device information).
Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication; your synced library data is stored on our own servers operated by Welton Ventures Technologies Pte. Ltd. Please review each provider’s own privacy policy for details on how they process data.
4. Advertising and Monetization
The app shows advertisements to keep it free. Ads may be personalized using non-identifying signals such as approximate region and device type. We do not target ads using sensitive categories or your real-world identity. You can control ad personalization:
- Android: Google Ad Settings, and your device’s “Ads” / “Reset advertising ID” controls.
- iOS: the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Where required (e.g. the EEA/UK), we present a consent choice on first launch and adjust analytics and advertising behaviour according to your selection. Your account and synced library data are used only to provide the sync service — never for advertising.
5. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Note that some podcast content may be marked Explicit. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us (Section 10) and we will delete it promptly.
6. Data Retention
- Account & synced library data (signed-in users): retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (see Section 8), this data is permanently deleted from our servers.
- Our servers (pseudonymous): usage and search data associated with the random device identifier (not your identity) is retained for a limited period — generally up to 120 days — after which it is deleted.
- Third-party services: aggregated analytics, advertising, and crash data may be retained by the providers listed in Section 3 for up to 26 months, or as set out in their own policies.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit (e.g. HTTPS) and rely on our providers’ security for the data they process. Sign-in uses Firebase Authentication, and account requests are authenticated with a secure token rather than a password we store. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. The app requests only the permissions it needs to function.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / Singapore PDPA / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to opt out of personalized advertising or the “sale/share” of data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can:
- adjust ad and tracking settings on your device (see Section 4);
- if you have an account, delete it and all associated synced data directly in the app — open “รายการของฉัน” (My Library), tap your profile picture, and choose “ลบบัญชี” (Delete Account). This permanently removes your account and synced library data from our servers; data stored only on your device, and any purchases or subscriptions (managed by Apple or Google), are not affected; and
- contact us at to make a data access or deletion request.
If you have an account, we can locate your data using your account. For anonymous data, because we do not collect identifying information, we may ask for your random device identifier or other details in order to locate any data associated with your request.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
